Rating Of Players
Ratings of players participating in the graded events will be based on their Ratings Central ratings as of 22 September 2025. The relevant ratings for the 4 grades are as follows:
A Grade: 1300 and above
B Grade: 1000 to 1299
C Grade: 700 to 999
D Grade: Below 700
Players who do not have a rating can choose to have their grade assessed by contacting Top Spins Competition Management Committee (CMC) before the close of registration on 22 November 2025. The CMC reserves the right to determine the ratings for any players who do not have a Ratings Central rating or if there is any dispute about players’ ratings. The CMC decision is final.
Registration
Registration opens on 22 September 2025 and will be closed at 9pm on 22 November 2025.
Registration can be done via the Top Spins Website or at Top Spins Table Tennis Club.
1) Singles events: Players can only register for events equal to or higher than their own grade; for example: X is a male, age 38 and has a rating of 899; he can register for C, B, A level men's singles and the 19 to 40 singles, as well as the handicap mixed singles, a total of 5 events!
2) Doubles events: The grading of this event is based on the average ratings of the two participating players. For example, player X rating is 850, and player Y is 1300, then the team’s rating is (850+1300)/2=1075 and can register for B Grade doubles and A Grade doubles. Each person can only play in one double team within that grade.
3) Age group events: The date for determining the respective age group entries is 22 November 2025 and players over 60 – those aged 61–70 may compete in the 41–60 group, while those over 70 (O/70) may compete in the 61–70 group.
4) Handicap: The CMC will decide on the handicap points to be awarded to players participating in this event based on their central ratings outlined above.
5) Team event: This is an Open event and at least 3 people are required to form a team. The team competition includes two rounds of single matches, followed by a double match, and finally, two more single matches, making it a total of 5 matches (A-X, B-Y, AC-YZ, C-Z, B-X).
*In the unlikely situation that an event needs to be cancelled by the organizer, registered players will be given an option to play at another event or given a refund. However, if a registered players withdraw from their events for personal reasons, NO refund will be given.
Events and Costs
In addition to the OPEN SINGLES $20, The cost is $15 per person for each event. For the team competition, it's $45 for a team of 3, and this fee will be covered by the person registering the team, who should provide the team's name and member names during registration. In the doubles competition, the total cost is $30 for a team of 2, and the registrant should provide the names of the team members.
Competition conditions and rules
1. By registering and participating in the competition, the players agree to observe and abide by the conditions set out below as well as the Top Spins Code of Conduct.
2. A separate registration must be used for each event with the associated fees must be paid to confirm entry.
3. The competition will be played in accordance with ITTF, TTA and TTWA rules and regulations.
4. An umpire whose decision is final on point of fact shall control each game.
5. The CMC reserves the right to refuse entries and to cancel or merge any event due to lack of entries.
6. As a condition to participate in the competition, players will be asked to umpire some games by the CMC. Failure to do so may result in the forfeiture of the player’s games or competition results.
7. Players must report to the registration table 15 minutes prior to their events. Players who are absent when called upon to play may result in their game being forfeited.
8. 40+ White 3-star ITTF approved balls will be used.
9. Elimination rounds are used in all competitions (Best of 5 Games and 11 points system)
10. Results of the Singles events will be entered onto the Ratings Central system. (Except for handicap matches)
