Rating Of Players
Players participating in the graded events will be classified based on their Spindex ratings as of 15 October 2026.
If you do not yet have a Spindex rating, please download the Spindex app and set your Spindex rating by adding 100 points to your Ratings Central rating. For example, if your Ratings Central rating is 750, your Spindex rating should be set to 850.
Please note: Spindex ratings must strictly follow the formula of Ratings Central rating + 100 points. To ensure fair competition, we will conduct checks to verify players’ ratings. If an incorrectly entered rating is identified, the player will be required to register again with the correct rating. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.
Players who do not have any rating, including those without a Ratings Central rating, may contact the Top Spins Competition Management Committee (CMC) before the registration deadline of 22 November 2026 to request an assessment of their playing level and complete their Spindex registration.
In the event of any dispute regarding players’ ratings, the CMC reserves the right to make the final determination. The CMC’s decision is final.
Registration
Registration will open on 15 October 2026 and close at 9:00 pm on 22 November 2026.
Players can register via the official Top Spins website or in person at Top Spins Table Tennis Club.
1. Singles Events
Players may only register for events within their own rating range or in a higher category.
For example, X is a 61-year-old male player with a rating of 899. He can register for the following events:
· U1100 Men's Singles
· U1400 Men's Singles
· Open Men's Singles
· Age 61–70 Mixed Singles
Junior Singles Events
Junior refers to players who are under 18 years of age.
Junior players may only register for events within their own rating range or in a higher category.
For example, Player X is 17 years old and has a rating of 880. He can register for the following events:
· U1100 Junior Singles
· U1400 Junior Singles
· Junior Open Singles
· U1100 Singles
· U1400 Singles
· Open Singles
2. Doubles Events
The grade for a doubles event will be determined by the average rating of the two participating players.
For example, Player X has a rating of 850, and Player Y has a rating of 1300. Their average rating is:
(850 + 1300) ÷ 2 = 1075
Therefore, this pair can register for U1100 Doubles, U1400 Doubles and Open Doubles.
Each player may participate in only one doubles pair within the same event category. Players cannot register multiple pairs with different partners in the same category.
3. Age Eligibility
Players' age group eligibility will be determined by their age as of 22 November 2026.
4. Team Event
The team event is an Open event, and each team must consist of at least three players.
The team competition consists of five matches, scheduled as follows:
1. First singles match: A vs X
2. Second singles match: B vs Y
3. Doubles match: AC vs YZ
4. Fourth match (singles): C vs Z
5. Fifth match (singles): B vs X
The competition begins with two singles matches, followed by one doubles match, and concludes with two more singles matches, making a total of five matches.
5. Cancellation and Refund Policy
If the organiser needs to cancel an event due to unforeseen circumstances, registered players will be given the option to participate in another event or receive a refund.
However, no refunds will be given to players who withdraw from registered events for personal reasons.
