Rating Of Players

Ratings of players participating in the graded events will be based on their Ratings Central ratings as of 22 November 2024. The relevant ratings for the 4 grades are as follows:

A Grade: 1300 and above

B Grade: 1000 to 1299

C Grade: 700 to 999

D Grade: Below 700

Players who do not have a rating can choose to have their grade assessed by contacting Top Spins Competition Management Committee (CMC) before the close of registration on 22 November 2024. The CMC reserves the right to determine the ratings for any players who do not have a Ratings Central rating or if there is any dispute about players’ ratings. The CMC decision is final.

Registration

Registration opens on 22 October 2024 and will be closed at 9pm on 22 November 2024.

Registration can be done via the Top Spins Website or at Top Spins Table Tennis Club.

1) Singles events: Players can only register for events equal to or higher than their own grade; for example: X is a male, age 38 and has a rating of 899; he can register for C, B, A level men's singles and the 19 to 40 singles, as well as the handicap mixed singles, a total of 5 events!

2) Doubles events: The grading of this event is based on the average ratings of the two participating players. For example, player X rating is 850, and player Y is 1300, then the team’s rating is (850+1300)/2=1075 and can register for B Grade doubles and A Grade doubles. Each person can only play in one double team within that grade.

3) Age group events: The date for determining the respective age group entries is 22 November 2024.

4) Handicap: The CMC will decide on the handicap points to be awarded to players participating in this event based on their central ratings outlined above.

5) Team event: This is an Open event and at least 3 people are required to form a team. The team competition includes two rounds of single matches, followed by a double match, and finally, two more single matches, making it a total of 5 matches (A-X, B-Y, AC-YZ, C-Z, B-X).

In the unlikely situation that an event needs to be cancelled by the organizer, registered players will be given an option to play at another event or given a refund. However, if a registered players withdraw from their events for personal reasons, NO refund will be given.

Events and Costs

The cost is $15 per person for each event. For the team competition, it's $45 for a team of 3, and this fee will be covered by the person registering the team, who should provide the team's name and member names during registration. In the doubles competition, the total cost is $30 for a team of 2, and the registrant should provide the names of the team members.
